Relativistic corrections to the electromagnetic polarizabilities of compound systems
The low-energy Compton scattering amplitude for a system of two particles with masses m 1,2 and charges e 1,2, bound by electromagnetic forces, was calculated. The complete result for the first relativistic corrections to the electromagnetic polarizabilities, including the tensor part that exists for the total spin S≥1 was obtained. It was shown that this tensor part contains the quadrupole moment of the system and not any higher multipoles.
