Development of vacuum photoelectron devices at Budker Institute

The results of testing of several photomultiplier tubes with microchannel plates (MCPTs) and phototriodes developed at the Budker Institute of Nuclear Physics in 1997-2002 are presented. The MCPTs and several types of multianode devices were designed and tested. The counting rate capability of the devices, the dependence of the tube gain versus magnetic field and the cross talks between readout channels were studied. The development of streak camera with circular deflection of an electron beam for detecting fast light pulses is started. The design and the results of testing the streak camera are presented. © 2003 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
